Family well wishing » answer

Hi,

Is there a specific phrase for wishing people and their family well in general?

I received a birthday greeting and wanted to say 'best wishes to you and your family' or 'I hope your family are well' as well as thanks?

Would something like 'good health' (tusen takk, skål!) do? I haven't seen them for a long time, in English I would probably say 'thanks so much- long time no see, hope you lot are all well!'

Thank you

I was wondering if I could get help translate this letter (3 pages) that was written to my great grandmother in North Dakota from someone in Norway in 1949. Thanks in advance for your help! It is greatly appreciated!

Please use the German forum for questions about guidelines, at least for the time being, as most of the discussions about rules are the same for German and English and we need to discuss them in one place.
